The Canon RF 24mm f/1.8 Macro IS STM combines a wide-angle view with close-focusing capability, making it useful for landscapes, street photography, environmental portraits, and detailed close-ups. Its compact design and bright f/1.8 aperture also make it a strong everyday prime.
Wide-Angle Macro Performance
The 24mm focal length gives you a broad field of view, while the close-focus design lets you work just 5.5" from your subject. With up to 0.5x magnification, you can capture small details while still keeping more of the surrounding scene in the frame.
Bright Aperture and Optical Quality
The f/1.8 maximum aperture helps in low light and gives you more control over depth of field. One UD element and one aspherical element help reduce chromatic and spherical aberrations for sharper, cleaner images, while Canon’s Super Spectra coating helps control flare and ghosting.
A rounded nine-blade diaphragm creates smooth background blur when shooting at wider apertures.
Autofocus and Stabilization
The STM motor provides fast, quiet, and smooth autofocus for both photo and video. Built-in optical stabilization offers up to 5 stops of shake correction, or up to 6.5 stops with Coordinated IS on compatible EOS R cameras.
A customizable Control Ring can also be assigned to settings such as aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation for quicker adjustments while shooting.
