Constant f/2.8 Aperture
The bright f/2.8 aperture stays consistent throughout the zoom range, helping in low light and giving you more control over depth of field. A rounded nine-blade diaphragm also helps create smooth background blur.
Sharp, Consistent Image Quality
Three UD elements and three aspherical elements help reduce color fringing, distortion, and other aberrations for cleaner detail across the frame. Canon’s Air Sphere Coating also helps control flare and ghosting when shooting in bright or backlit conditions.
Fast Autofocus and Stabilization
The Nano USM autofocus system provides quick, accurate, and nearly silent focusing for both stills and video. Full-time manual focus override is available when you want more precise control.
