CineStill Cs6 DynamicChrome Kit — 3-Bath E-6 Slide Film Processing Kit

Process color slide film at home with CineStill’s Cs6 DynamicChrome Kit, a simplified 3-bath process designed for up to 16 rolls of color reversal film.

Traditional E-6 processing uses six separate chemical baths. The Cs6 process combines those steps into just three, making home slide film processing more approachable without giving up control over the final look.

The DynamicChrome kit uses CineStill’s D9 first developer, which gives you extra control over contrast, color, and highlight detail. It’s especially useful for high-contrast scenes and is optimized for scanning.

What’s Included

  • D9 DynamicChrome First Developer — 1000mL stock solution, enough for up to 16 rolls -D9 is CineStill’s warm-tone first developer, designed to give slide film more usable dynamic range than traditional E-6 processing. It can produce approximately 9+ stops of usable dynamic range, compared with roughly 6 stops with conventional E-6 processing.

  • Cr6 Color&Reversal Bath — 1 quart of reusable solution, enough for 16+ rolls -With the Cs6 process, color development and reversal happen together in the Cr6 Color&Reversal bath. The liquid concentrate makes 1 quart of reusable working solution, enough for 16+ rolls of developed slide film.

  • Bf6 Bleaches&Fixer Bath — 1 quart of reusable solution, enough for 24+ rolls --The Bf6 Bleaches&Fixer bath combines the bleaching, conditioning, and fixing steps into a single solution. One quart of working solution can process 24+ rolls of slide film.

D9 DynamicChrome First Developer

D9 is CineStill’s warm-tone first developer, designed to give slide film more usable dynamic range than traditional E-6 processing. It can produce approximately 9+ stops of usable dynamic range, compared with roughly 6 stops with conventional E-6 processing.

You can adjust the dilution depending on the look and exposure you’re after:

  • 1+1 dilution: Warm tones, higher contrast, and extended dynamic range — about 9 min. 15 sec. at 104°F (40°C)

  • 1+2 dilution: More highlight detail and a more neutral color balance — about 11 min. at 104°F (40°C)

  • 1+3 dilution: Pull processing for overexposed film — about 13 min. at 104°F (40°C)

Why Process Slide Film at Home?

Slide film gives you a positive image that can be viewed directly on the film, rather than a negative that needs to be inverted. With fewer slide films available today, the Cs6 process gives you more flexibility to experiment with the films you can still find.

The DynamicChrome process is designed to give you more control over exposure, contrast, and color while making E-6-style processing much simpler to do at home.
