The Tiffen 52mm Pro-Mist 1/4 Filter is designed for movies, yet ideal for photographic fashion and beauty applications. It helps reduce high-light intensity while keeping the overall contrast low. Unlike traditional diffusion or soft focus filters, Pro-Mist filters offer minimal detail loss across the image. The 1/4 density provides a more perceptible reduction of contrast and highlights than 1/8, but less than 1/2, creating a smooth, pastel-like light. Constructed with ColorCore technology, Tiffen filters are laminated between two optical glass pieces, grinding them to 1/10,000th of an inch, then attaching to metal rings. Facial wrinkles and blemishes are softened with no loss of detail.
