The Canon RF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM is a compact telephoto zoom built for portraits, events, travel, sports, and everyday long-range shooting. It combines a useful 70-200mm range with a constant f/4 aperture, strong stabilization, and Canon L-series construction.
Compact Telephoto Zoom
The constant f/4 aperture stays consistent throughout the zoom range, giving you predictable exposure while helping keep the lens smaller and lighter than an f/2.8 design. This makes it easier to carry and handhold for longer shoots.
Four UD elements help reduce color fringing and chromatic aberrations for cleaner detail, while Canon’s Air Sphere Coating helps control flare and ghosting in bright or backlit conditions.
Fast Autofocus and Stabilization
Dual Nano USM autofocus provides quick, accurate, and nearly silent focusing for both photo and video. Full-time manual focus control is also available for more precise adjustments.
Built-in optical stabilization provides up to 5 stops of shake correction, or up to 7.5 stops when paired with a compatible EOS R body using coordinated lens and in-body stabilization.
L-Series Build and Controls
The lens includes a customizable Control Ring that can be assigned to settings such as aperture, ISO, or exposure compensation. A fluorine coating on the front and rear elements helps resist fingerprints and makes cleaning easier.
As part of Canon’s L-series, the RF 70-200mm f/4 L IS USM is sealed against dust and moisture for added protection when shooting outdoors or in changing conditions.
