The Canon EOS R6 Mark III is a high-performance full-frame mirrorless camera built for photographers and filmmakers who need speed, resolution, and strong video tools in one body. Its 32.5MP sensor, fast burst shooting, 7K video, improved autofocus, and upgraded stabilization make it a capable choice for a wide range of work.
Fast Photo Performance
The R6 Mark III pairs a 32.5MP sensor with Canon’s DIGIC X processor for fast, responsive shooting. It can capture up to 40 fps with the electronic shutter or 12 fps with the mechanical shutter, with autofocus and exposure tracking between frames.
A Pre-Continuous Shooting mode can also save up to 20 frames before the shutter is fully pressed, helping with unpredictable action and split-second moments.
Advanced Autofocus
Canon’s Dual Pixel CMOS AF II system has been updated for faster and more accurate subject tracking. Register People Priority can help the camera recognize and prioritize specific people, making it useful for events, sports, weddings, and other situations where keeping focus on the right subject matters.
7K and High-Frame-Rate Video
The R6 Mark III supports high-resolution 7K recording along with 4K video up to 119.8p for slow-motion playback. At 2K and Full HD resolutions, recording is available up to 179.8p.
A dedicated Slow and Fast Motion mode gives you direct control over frame rate, playback speed, resolution, and compression. Pre-Recording can also capture up to five seconds before the record button is pressed, helping you catch moments that happen without warning.
More Control Over Video
Canon Log 2 provides more dynamic range for color grading, while Canon Log 3, HLG, PQ, Canon 709, and BT.709 are also available through the Custom Picture menu. Compatible LUTs can be loaded into the camera and applied while recording, and built-in color filters provide a quicker option for adjusting the look of JPEG photos and MP4 video.
Other useful video tools include focus magnification during recording, focus breathing correction with compatible lenses, Auto Level, Close-Up Demo mode, and Movie Digital IS.
In-Body Image Stabilization
The upgraded 5-axis in-body stabilization system provides up to 8.5 stops of shake correction at the center of the frame and up to 7.5 stops toward the edges. This helps with handheld shooting in low light and can produce steadier video without always relying on a tripod or gimbal.
With compatible stabilized lenses, Coordinated IS combines in-body and lens-based stabilization for additional support. Movie Digital IS can also be used to smooth footage while moving.
Flexible Storage and Durable Build
The R6 Mark III includes one CFexpress Type B slot and one UHS-II SD card slot, giving photographers and videographers more flexibility for high-speed bursts and high-resolution recording.
The magnesium alloy chassis is dust- and moisture-resistant for use in changing conditions, and the shutter has been durability tested to 500,000 cycles. Together, these updates make the R6 Mark III well suited for frequent professional and hybrid use.
